A five-month long national search to fill the position of provost has produced four candidates for the senior academic administrative post at the University of Houston. Donald Foss, former senior vice president and vice chancellor of Academic Affairs and former UH provost, resigned from his position June 16 to continue teaching and researching at the Department of Psychology as a tenured professor.

Dec. 3, 2008 marks the deadline for UTSA students to drop all classes and receive a grade of "W" on their transcript.
A "W" grade means that a student has either withdrawn from a class or has replaced a possible failing grade with a "W."
According to the UTSA Web site, all sophomores and above with 30 or more credit hours earned can drop classes on this day.
